Desktop

Download Twill Desktop to connect local folders, run agents with your own account, and hand work to the cloud. Sign-in opens in your system browser and returns to the app through a twill:// link. Twill checks for updates automatically. Linux auto-update is available for the AppImage; update a .deb installation by installing a newer package. Closing the window keeps Twill running in the menu bar or system tray, or minimized on Linux. Quitting stops local agents. See Work locally for setup and connection help.

Web and mobile

Use twill.ai in your browser or twill.ai/m on your phone to start cloud tasks, read results, answer questions, and follow up. You can also continue your own local project chats while their computer is awake and connected. Adding folders requires Desktop on that computer (or the CLI on a computer without a screen), and reviewing local files requires Desktop.

Inbox

When an agent needs an approval, an answer, or a plan reviewed, it shows up in the Inbox: the bell at the top of the sidebar on desktop and web (on the workspace rail while the sidebar panel is folded), and the bell in the header on your phone. It counts every workspace you belong to, so nothing waits unnoticed in a workspace you are not currently browsing, and each computer and workspace in the rail shows how many of the requests are its own. If you allow notifications, Twill also tells you as each request arrives, unless you are already looking at that task. Each request shows its task, what is being asked, and how long it has waited. Select it to open the task. To take a request out of your Inbox without answering it, use the × on its row (or press Delete when the row is selected; arrow keys move between rows), or Clear all to empty the Inbox. The task still waits for its answer, and the request is removed only from your Inbox, not from anyone else’s. Undo in the confirmation brings it back. Cloud tasks keep running when you close the browser or turn off your computer. Local tasks need the connected computer; use Handoff before stepping away.
